Adam Rowley is a professional photographer based in Hertfordshire and West Sussex and works across London and the South East of England. While he likes taking photos of a variety of subjects, his greatest pleasure is in capturing emotions on film. In keeping with this, for portraiture he prefers to work on location, where the subjects will be relaxed and comfortable, resulting in a natural, relaxed feel to the images.

He grew up with film photography and was a late convert to digital, making that transition in late 2007. His long apprenticeship using film has left him with a philosophy of trying to “get it right” in camera rather than using extensive Photoshop manipulation. However, as the galleries show, he is not averse to using techniques such as cross-processing, high key imaging, soft-focus, digital lith and colour negative effects where he feels it will enhance the pictures. Adam likes to work in monochrome for a wide variety of subjects.

Prior to becoming a full-time photographer, Adam had a successful career in a corporate environment which has left him with a good understanding of the needs of companies when it comes to marketing and promotion.

Adam uses Canon digital cameras, lenses and printers, Bowens studio lighting equipment, and processes pictures using Adobe Camera RAW and Photoshop CS4.

Adam is a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers.
